A meeting was held by the Standing Committee of CPC Zhejiang Committee to deliver the core value of General Secretary Xi Jinping’s speech at the Global Trade in Services Summit of CIFTIS 2020. According to the meeting, Zhejiang would take digital trade as the main development direction, positively exploring a new business mode for trade in services featuring “service + digital”, and establishing a high-level platform for digital trade.

Notice by the State Council of Issuing the Framework Plan for Beijing, Hu’nan and Anhui Pilot FTZs and the Plan of Expanding Zhejiang Pilot FTZ (G.F [2020] No. 10) clarified the requirement of “initiating GDTE and establishing pilot demonstration areas of digital trade”.

The list of top 10 innovation projects was released by Hangzhou Area of Zhejiang Pilot FTZ at its promotion meeting. Bidding for GDTE topped the list.

Letter of People’s Government of Zhejiang Province on Invitation of Joint Hosting of the First GDTE 2021 (Z.Z.H[2021]No. 42) was delivered to MOFCOM.

​MOFCOM sent a reply and agreed to be one of the hosts of GDTE.

Formally approved by the National Leading Work Team on the Clearing and Normalization of Celebrations, Seminars and Forum Activities, the First GDTE was to be held from December 6 to 9, 2021 in Hangzhou, Zhejiang. The event would be hosted by People’s Government of Zhejiang Province and the MOFCOM.

The First Meeting of Provincial and Municipal Special Work Team for the First GDTE 2021 was held by ZJDOC and Hangzhou Municipal People’s Government to start the joint preparation for GDTE.

50 departments and 13 districts, counties and cities attended Hangzhou’s Citywide GDTE Promotion Conference, which consisted of a second mobilization and the releasing of mission assignments and schedule.

Zhu Congjiu, Vice Governor of Zhejiang Province, Sheng Qiuping, Director General of the ZJDOC, Hu Wei, Deputy Mayor of Hangzhou Municipal People’s Government, and Wang Dongtang, Deputy Director of the Department of Trade in Services of the MOFCOM, attended a press conference held by the Information Office of People’s Government of Zhejiang Province, introducing the basic conditions and answered questions from journalists.
