Accelerating into the post-Asian Games era, Hangzhou is charting a course to redefine itself as the national leader in digital economy.
Yang Xiaoyong, deputy director of Hangzhou municipal bureau of economy and information technology, recently emphasized the importance of nurturing key areas like visual intelligence, cloud computing, big data, high-end software and AI, and integrated circuits.
Meanwhile, a push for data-practice integration will be spearheaded. Leveraging its efforts to pilot digitalization and host the Global Digital Trade Expo, Hangzhou aims to empower traditional industries with digital transformation, consolidate its image as a national service-oriented manufacturing demonstration city, and foster digital technology service providers in key sectors.
Furthermore, strengthening digital infrastructure is on the agenda. Expanding high-speed internet networks, intelligent computing centers, national internet exchange centers, and IoT infrastructures will be a priority. Plans for Zhejiang's new computing power center are underway, with the intention of creating a cost-effective hub for national computing resources.
Hangzhou's strategy also encompasses talent development, regulatory frameworks, policies, and major events to create an optimal environment for robust digital economic growth.
The city is poised to leap ahead in the digital revolution, solidifying its position as a trailblazer in China's digital landscape.
