Eighteen enterprises from Ningbo are participating in the Second Global Digital Trade Expo, which opened in Hangzhou on Nov 23. The expo, the only national-level event focused on digital trade, showcased cutting-edge technologies including artificial intelligence, 3D displays, and autonomous driving.

Ningbo Weizhen Display Technology Co Ltd, one of the participating enterprises, presented its state-of-the-art immersive 3D LED system.

He Xuanchen, deputy general manager of the company, highlighted the unique features of their technology, stating, "When wearing 3D glasses, viewers can experience vivid images that create a sense of being present, surpassing the three-dimensionality and realism of conventional 3D movies."

He emphasized that this innovation has reached an internationally leading level and has the potential to benefit various industries such as medical education, cultural entertainment, industrial design, and aerospace. The company aims to enhance collaborations with both domestic and international experts through the expo to explore other digital technologies such as metaverse display, three-dimensional visualization of big data, and AI.

Ningbo has been at the forefront of efforts to promote digital technology in foreign trade. In the first nine months of this year, the city's digital trade import and export volume reached 190.12 billion yuan ($26.63 billion), representing a 10.3 percent increase compared to the same period last year and the second highest among cities in Zhejiang. Specifically, cross-border e-commerce imports and exports contributed to 170.16 billion yuan, reflecting an uptick of 8.9 percent year-on-year. The import and export of digital services also witnessed an increase of 15.6 percent year-on-year, totaling 19.96 billion yuan.
