Hangzhou's digital trade charm unfolds in ASEAN

On September 17, the 20th China-ASEAN Expo "Charming City" Hangzhou Economic and Trade Cooperation Exchange Promotion Seminar was held in Nanning, the capital of the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region of China.

Hangzhou has extensive economic and trade cooperation with ASEAN countries. In 2022, the total bilateral import and export trade volume of goods reached 96.17 billion yuan, accounting for nearly 13% of the city's imports and exports. ASEAN countries are the largest source of imports for Hangzhou. In 2022, Hangzhou invested in 57 projects in ASEAN countries with a total investment exceeding 400 million USD.

Fang Yi, a Standing Member of the CPC Hangzhou Committee, stated that the 2nd Global Digital Trade Expo (GDTE) will be held in Hangzhou in November. Hangzhou warmly welcomes guests from ASEAN countries to attend the event, enjoy tourism and shopping, invest and start businesses, and seek mutual growth.

Wang Yongfang, general director of Hangzhou Municipal Bureau of Commerce, promoted the 2nd GDTE to guests at the Expo.

The 2nd GDTE will be held from November 23 to 27 at Hangzhou International Expo Center. As one of the six top-tier, state-level expos, it aims to bolster its international presence by extending invitations to 50 countries and regions, 50 Fortune 500 companies, 50 leading global and national companies in digital trade, 50 international organizations and associations, as well as 50 resident diplomats in China to join the Expo.

At the promotion meeting, Hu Zhenfang, deputy director of Department of Commerce of Zhejiang Province, on behalf of the 2nd GDTE's host, signed a contract with the China-ASEAN Expo to promote cooperation.
